Translites

Because lighting a sign makes the graphics stand out and grab the attention of the consumer, companies use translites at the point of sale.

Although this product is most commonly used as a menu board in the Quick Service Restaurant industry, it is also utilized in airports, theatres, bus shelters, taxi toppers, and consumer good product displays.

Two popular production methods we utilize are as follows:

Substrate                                           .015 white  translucent styrene
Printing Process                                 4/C  over  4/C
Inks                                                     UV with interstation curing
Coating                                               UV - gloss
Viewing Recommendation                 Reflective or back lighted (indoor/outdoor)

Substrate                                           .015 clear polycarbonate w/masking
Printing Process                                 Reverse high density 4/C process
Inks                                                     UV with interstation curing
Coating                                               White UV - matte
Viewing Recommendation                        Back lighted only (indoor/outdoor)

One would choose the polycarbonate over the styrene in the event that heat is a factor. Although there are high heat styrene products, polycarbonate has a much higher melting point so it can stand up to higher temperatures.

Some of our customers have said this about the translites that we have printed for them:
“The food products look beautiful”…”that’s good enough to eat”…”mouthwatering”…”makes me hungry just looking at it”…”I’m thirsty!”

What are people saying about your POP graphics? Be it back lighted translites or reflective graphics, the Buhl Press has worked for years to whet consumers’ appetite by producing the finest promotional printing on plastic.
